Using Jekyll & Hyde

Jekyll & Hyde make up the two parts of a Java client/server application which demonstrates progressive transmission of vector data using a strip-tree multiple representation database. The server piece, Jekyll, is running on Greenwich in the Meridian Lab. You may run the Hyde Client application as follows:

1. Make sure you have a current Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. You can download the JRE from this site:

http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

2. Download the Hyde.jar file:

http://greenwich.colorado.edu/projects/jh/Hyde.jar

3. Run Hyde by executing the following command:

java -cp Hyde.jar Hyde greenwich.colorado.edu

or download this batch file, put it in the same place as the Hyde.jar file and run it.:

http://greenwich.colorado.edu/projects/jh/client.bat

4. Connect to the Jekyll Server using the Connection->Connect menu item.
